The new government will now be faced with aggressive corporate lobbyists looking to stall the government’s plans for a democratic trade model, to end the hostile environment for migrants, revitalise international development and restrain the power of big business. 

That’s why we need your help. In coming months we will need to push forward these policies and make them a reality. While we have tremendous optimism, our role has just become much more important.

  • help us to run ‘training’ meetings to get new MPs up to speed on our issues, and form parliamentary support networks to push those demands we think are strategically most important.
     
  • pay towards research which would allow us to repel the arguments by ‘Big Pharma’ against the reform proposals which Labour have adopted – helping these reforms to become reality as soon as possible.
     
  • pay for expertise to help us develop legally-binding clauses which could be inserted into trade deals to put the fight against climate change ahead of big business profits.
     
  • help us form a global coalition to push the new government to make radical changes to the way aid is delivered and abolishing privatised aid.
