Stand against corporate courts blocking climate action

Global Justice Now supporters protesting against corporate courts

Corporate courts are a secretive shadow legal system that give large companies the power to sue governments for millions for taking action to protect people and the environment. Even the threat of a corporate court case can pressure countries into backing down on regulations such as phasing out coal.

As the UK continues to negotiate new trade deals there is a huge risk that large corporations could use corporate courts to block much needed climate action. If enough of us speak out we could stop this unjust mechanism in its tracks.

Can you help grow our campaign by making a donation today?

The shady corporate courts system gives corporations the power to sue governments for millions, or even billions, outside of the national legal system.

By donating today you could help:

• Mobilise more people online to take action so the government can’t ignore our call that these unjust corporate courts should have no place in UK trade policy. Over 100,000 people have already signed our petition.

• Produce briefings with which to lobby MPs so we can get more parliamentary support behind the campaign.

• Co-ordinate with activists in the UK and around the world fighting corporate courts so together so we can have a greater impact.

• Expose in the media how corporate court cases could cost countries around the world millions when the world is struggling to respond to the impacts of climate breakdown.
