As Israel’s assault on Gaza continues, the International Court of Justice has found there is a plausible case that Israel is committing acts of genocide, and begun a detailed investigation.
Yet the UK is holding talks over deepening its trade with Israel, increasing its complicity in war crimes taking place in Gaza.
Britain’s existing trade deal with Israel is supposedly based on respect for human rights. It is hard to imagine what more crimes a state would need to commit before these human rights clauses were activated, and the trade deal suspended. Failing to do so makes Britain complicit with Israel’s actions.
Already, Spain and Ireland have already demanded a review of the EU’s trade deal with Israel on human rights grounds.
Please tell the UK government to suspend its trade deal with Israel - and halt further trade talks now.
