Suspend the UK-Israel trade deal

As Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza continues, the International Court of Justice has ruled Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land to be in breach of international law. Meanwhile, the country remains under investigation for genocide at the ICJ.

Despite this, the new UK government has announced its intention to deliver new trade talks with Israel.

Britain’s existing trade deal with Israel is supposedly based on respect for human rights. But it is hard to imagine what other crimes a state would need to commit before these human rights clauses were activated, and the trade deal suspended.

Ireland and Spain have already demanded a review of the EU's trade deal with Israel on human rights grounds. The ICJ has said that states are under obligation “not to render aid or assistance” to Israel’s occupation.

We can’t let the UK be complicit in Israel’s war against Palestinians. Will you write and urge the UK government to suspend all trade talks with Israel?
