UK: Stop corporations exploiting Colombia

The UK-Colombia investment deal is letting British companies run roughshod over climate action and human rights, using shadowy 'corporate courts'.

Colombia is facing a total of $13 billion in claims by foreign investors. Mining companies are suing in direct response to action the government has taken to move away from fossil fuels, protect fragile ecologies and the rights of Indigenous peoples.   
 
The treaty's ten-year first term has passed – it can now be scrapped. Can you sign the petition demanding the Trade Minister work with Colombia to terminate the deal? 

The Colombia-UK Bilateral Investment Treaty contains the controversial investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) mechanism, also known as 'corporate courts', which allows corporations to sue governments for policies they allege damage the value of their investments.
