We are deeply alarmed by reports that you want to negotiate a trade deal with President Trump. We oppose any US-UK trade deal which leads to:

Lower food standards,
More US corporations in the NHS,
Giving away control to Big Tech.

Such a deal would threaten Britain’s ability to govern its own economy and protect people and the environment. We urge you not to embark on these negotiations.

The UK government wants to do a trade deal with US President Donald Trump.

We know the US will push for a deal that puts big business ahead of protecting people and the environment, including:

Lower food standards, including chlorinated chicken and hormone-fed beef which are not allowed in the UK,
Access to our NHS, including private contracts and patient data,
Scrapping Big Tech rules, meaning we lose control of how to tax and regulate tech giants like Meta and X, including on AI.

The US administration is using the threat of tariffs as a negotiating tool, trying to bully us into changing our rules and regulations. We must not give in.
