Prime Minister: Don’t Cut Aid, Tax Wealth

The prime minister has announced a brutal 40% cut to the UK aid budget, in the wake of Donald Trump’s calls for increased military spending.

It's a wrong-headed move that represents a retreat from Britain paying its fair share towards the fight against global poverty.

Keir Starmer has said the cuts are necessary to pay for an increase in the military budget. But they’re a political choice, not an economic necessity.

A modest tax on extreme wealth in the UK could raise up to £24 billion every year.

Join our call on the prime minister to reverse the cuts to the aid budget and tax extreme wealth instead.
