In 2026, Israel has continued to bomb Gaza and the West Bank, appropriate land from Palestinians, and facilitate escalating settler attacks across the West Bank. Urgent action is needed to stop the atrocities.
In September, the UK government announced it will sanction Israel’s illegal settlements.
This is an important step forward and the result of huge mobilisation from the Palestine movement. But to be effective, sanctions must include:
- A full ban on arms sales, including F-35 military jet components
- Sanctions must target companies that profit and facilitate existing settlements and the broader occupation, not just settlement expansion
- Suspending the UK-Israel trade and partnership agreement (TPA) until Israel complies with international law
