I call on you to resist demands by pharmaceutical companies to replace the voluntary scheme for branded medicines pricing and access (VPAS) with a much lower tax regime which could cost the NHS £2 billion more every year.

Pharmaceutical companies are already some of the most profitable in the world, and additional NHS funding should go towards reversing years of cuts to services and staff.

Big pharmaceutical companies are currently hard at work lobbying the UK government to overhaul a key pricing deal which prevents the NHS drugs bill from spiraling out of control.

If the UK government caves in under the pressure from big pharma, the NHS would need to shell out an extra £2.5 billion each year on drugs alone.
