The Energy Charter Treaty is a climate-wrecking corporate court agreement that fossil fuel companies are already using to sue governments for billions over climate action.
Proposals to ‘modernise’ the treaty and make it compatible with climate goals have failed and countries have a decision to make: to recommit to this dangerous treaty, or to exit now.
Write to you MP and tell them it is urgent that the UK leaves the Energy Charter Treaty to safeguard climate goals, and ask them to raise this with the trade and energy ministers.
